Only heavens knows why the @ISC_schools lawyers didn't use this line in their case against @bphillipsonMP and the @educationgovuk for imposing VAT on private schools doing charitable acts? #VATonEducation #Labour

Why is a strong independent sector important for Britain? Speaking on Politics Live yesterday, ISC head of comms Sarah Cunnane provided three succinct reasons: 1. It reduces pressure on the state sector. 2. It offers diversity of choice. 3. It provides soft power abroad.

Workforce wellbeing is crucial - for both staff and pupils. I am interested to hear from schools who are doing this well? How can we all learn from one another? @ASCL_UK @NAHTnews @sencochat @ISC_schools
'No room for complacency': More than 35,000 #teachers quit the profession last year. New DfE data highlights concerns about class sizes & non-specialist #teaching at secondary level. However, retention while still worrying is showing signs of improvement buff.ly/dVt3tph

We have delivered some wonderful outreach events offered by the Independent Sector offering access and partnership to local state schools and their parents. This is something that needs to be celebrated. 👏👏👏

The claim tax payers subsiding independents should have been challenged more effectively. Also no mention of SEND & the many students who have had to leave state as their needs were not met. Parents further saving the state; paying for education rather than applying for an EHCP.

Private education aims to provide unfair advantages to young people whose parents can/willing to pay for it-surely its morally wrong? We need a Societal Paradigm Shift on the priorities for our young people youtube.com/watch?v=IwX8kigU… youtube.com/watch?v=kx4sEJ4L… youtube.com/watch?v=hqr5UR0f…

About time @ISC_schools showed up to the party. You need to speak out on ALL media platforms. So much more for you to do to fight for parents that ultimately keep your lights on.

It was a refreshing surprise to see someone from the ISC actually making the case for private schools rather than just meekly saying "oh but the partnerships".

How does this compare to last year ?

I think if you go to a private school that specialises in dance, music or sport you have earned it. If you receive a scholarship/ bursary you have earned it. If you have SEND needs unmet by the state in is a necessity not a privilege.
