๐ The 1886 resurrection of Partick FC! (a one-off)
- Who knew?๐ฎ We're surprised to discover this new match to the database. After moving to Inchview in '85, a benefit match for the local orphans became an annual event, this was the first of them...

9/20 โThe cheap thrill of spending Goose Fair Thursday in Nottingham behind him, Willie returned to Thistle as suddenly as he had abruptly departed, and he was back home at Inchview without explanation by late-October.โ

On this mighty day in Thistle history (1887) the soon-to-be-named "Jags" defeat Rangers by 2 goals to 1 in the Scottish Cup at Inchview. 2-goal BOB MARSHALL was the hero for many in the record 8,000 crowd. Exquisite and vivid report, have a read... ๐

On October 1891, the Celts went west to play Partick Thistle in the Glasgow Cup.
Playing at Inchview Park (in the Whiteinch area, near the modern day Clyde Tunnel entrance), Celtic made it through to the next round with a 3-0 victory.

The earliest record I could find of Inchbank and Inchview was this one, which gives the residents in 1858: scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/digitโฆ.
However, I presume by the architecture that it's Georgian, so a date of 1826 would fit with that.
I'm no wiser. Of course Whiteinch wasn't subsumed into Glasgow until 1912, so doesn't appear on early Glasgow maps. I believe 'Inchbank' dates to 1826. 'Inchview' would, of course, had a view of the Clyde 'inches' of the time, & the demolished 'Clydeview' of... the Clyde ๐.
The other was called Inchview House and part of its lands were once used as the home ground of Partick Thistle Football Club. Inchview seems to have been demolished in the 1960s to make way for the Clyde Tunnel, while Inchban survived.

Residents at Inchview care home had a spooky time at the Moose in the Hoose Halloween party this week! Pictured are Outreach Worker Wafa with volunteers David and Alan. ๐
The presbytery next door is allegedly one of the oldest extant buildings in Whiteinch. Itโs the former Jordanvale House, converted in 1904. And further along, well hidden behind JemCarpets, the oldest (& looking a tad forlorn) - Inchview.
Today's PA covers the extreme weather from Storm Babet which has caused widespread chaos across Perth and Kinross
We also have the Inchview P1 pictures!

Congratulations to the talented pupils at @InchViewPS!
Pupils created new designs urging car drivers to be considerate on the school run and also winning the @PSOSTayside competition, naming their new e-bikes!
Well done to all!
