The West family was not home, but I noticed they needed a new flag. So I stuffed a flag and my little door hanger bag and left him a little note! #InTheField. The flag is by my elbow that’s as good as I could get!

Had an excellent day talking with neighbors—making great connections, hearing wonderful stories. Henry homeschooled his five kids in the 80’s and is now helping raise his granddaughters. They were building this bench together. He was a homeschooling activist back in the day. Today he learned about ESAs. I told Bob my dad rode his Harley to Sturgis. He showed me a picture of his dad on a Harley in 1948. He also told me about when he died for four minutes when he was 19. He saw the light and felt the joy. Long and fulfilling day. I was out in all parts of my territory yesterday, which includes older homes at the center of the homeless problem, gated upscale subdivisions, and five-acre ranch lots—having great conversations and building relationships. Can’t wait until I can reach these folks and get a brand new Stars and Stripes flying high. A young couple moved from California, and their home had a flagpole but no flag.
