I often post about TV producers asking to see my screenplay for 'Sisters, Inc'. Here is the 'logline', which is a quick summary. It's only part of what is sent, but it gives you an inside look of how this process works: "Adopted by a CIA extractor and his Russian powerbroker wife, three traumatized young women are mentored to run their family’s global empires, transforming their shared survival instincts into a powerful empire that funds a private army targeting sex trafficking as well a legal team that takes down men that use their power to 'get what they want'. 'MeToo' has a new champion"

You can't fail with that logline. I think I'd be there on day 1 if that was on the poster for Uwe Boll movie.

Hi @fusionfilmiff The logline is: A world without pain. A humanity without feeling. Under a blood-red moon, two rebels risk everything to rediscover what it means to be human. The creative statement: In a future where cybernetic implants have eliminated pain, humanity has also lost its capacity to truly feel. Most people exist in a state of artificial bliss or emotional numbness. Kaz, a first-generation experiment, is different — he can experience every emotion except suffering. When he meets Kate, a bartender secretly working as a hacker and intelligence operative, their connection awakens something long forgotten. Together, they begin to realize that emotion is not a flaw in humanity, but its greatest strength. As they take on the corporation controlling the cybernetic system, they risk everything to restore genuine human feeling to a world that has traded it away. Under the Red Moon is a cyberpunk story about emotion, freedom, and the hidden cost of a perfect world.

tbh this would unironically be better, three chimps that escaped from the zoo pretending to be human and starting a business, while dodging their human landlord that doesnt know theyre animals

I don’t think my friend will appreciate me sharing his logline publicly. He has a comms background (multiple patents) but focuses on a shadow government. Brilliant guy!

Rob Meyer: “Even in an indie film it’s important to have a logline that 70 to 90 percent of people are going to perk up, and say, ‘That sounds kind of cool.’ Indie films are as much at the mercy of having stuff that sounds good in a pitch.” #screenwriting

i struggled with this a lot but it truly is - make sure the logline sounds like a movie before you start writing. that means it has to have concept and conflict baked in.

Logline: When a former Olympic sharpshooter wakes up in a clock tower harnessed to a sniper rifle, a mysterious voice pulling the strings behind the scenes forces him to shoot people, but with his daughter held hostage and the police playing catch up, there's no clear way out.

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has found its own “sex on ice” series. The streamer has ordered a series version of the Hannah Grace novel “Icebreaker." The logline for the show states: “She’s the transfer gunning for Olympic gold. He’s the campus star chasing the NHL. But when an accident forces their teams to share one rink, Anastasia Allen and Nate Hawkins collide—and discipline gives way to obsession, because the only thing more dangerous than wanting to win is wanting each other.” variety.com/2026/tv/news/ice…

Most important tip to improve your screenwriting success: Choose better ideas. Wait, what? So many scripts just don’t translate that well to becoming a movie. If you can’t pitch it in a special logline, isn’t not the best script idea. A novel, sure. But scripts are not pieces-

I've found that some concepts generate immediate questions, and that's usually a good sign. A logline doesn't need to tell the entire story, but it should make someone want to hear the next sentence.
