Tiny survivor 🐢 By luck or instinct, a baby loggerhead hatchling flicks sand in her attacker’s eye and it turns out to be the perfect defensive move. Free at last, she makes it to the ocean just in time. #AmericasNationalParks is now streaming on @DisneyPlus

I was in Greece during the 1987 heatwave that killed 1300-1500 people. I was part of a research project on loggerhead turtles which meant walking the beach throughout the night, so we had to sleep during the day. The only way I could manage that was to sleep in the sea. I might be missing that option soon. science.org/content/article/…

I think I found something useful! While Medieval folks didn't know about the brain and its exact functions, they did associate head and skull with thinking. I found "loggerhead", "Dalcop" (likely the best for what you're looking for). quizlet.com/289550494/mediev…

An environmentally conscious Egyptian citizen successfully rescued six endangered loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) after discovering them being offered for sale by a merchant at the Obour Market in Cairo Governorate.   The citizen purchased the turtles with the sole intention of protecting them, subsequently contacting the Ministry of Environment to intervene and ensure their safe rescue. Upon receiving the notification, the Ministry’s Sea Turtle Rescue Center—a branch of the Nature Protection Sector—coordinated with authorities at the Ashtoum El-Gamil Protected Area to take swift action. A specialized team from the rescue center was dispatched to the market, where they took custody of the marine animals and safely transported them to the rehabilitation facilities. egypttoday.com/Article/1/147…
