A children’s poem about time.

The teacher is talking.
It’s a math class.
“One minute is sixty seconds,
and one hour is the same in minutes.”
But this lesson lasts forty-five minutes,
yet I’ve been sitting here for an hour and a half,
and the minute hand hasn’t even moved.
The teacher is still talking.
The bell rings!
Time for a break.
The bell rings.
Back inside—hurry up.
While everyone is lining up outside,
I’m still standing there,
helpless.
I haven’t even made it out.
I blink,
and I’m not even there anymore.
The teacher is talking again.

🍣 Math sushi = a perfect combo
6th grade students turned into sushi chefs while learning all about ratios and percents! They ran their own sushi shop, taking orders and serving customers (aka themselves 😁), applying real-world math every step of the way.
