Santa Monica, California | Renowned opera singer Jubilant Sykes was fatally stabbed at his home last night. Police responded to a call & found the classical music icon in critical condition & was later pronounced dead at the scene. The baritone’s 31-yr-old son Micah was found inside the home at the time & was taken into custody for homicide. The case will be presented to the Los Angele County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration.  During his illustrious career, Jubilant performed at iconic venues across the country, including Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl & Kennedy Center. The loss is personal to me because I attended a master class taught by him years ago which, to this day, left an indelible impression on me. Despite the connection, I would still defend his son … pro bono. Lucrezia Bori (December 24, 1887 – May 14, 1960). Spanish lyric soprano. When she retired in 1935 after a successful career, she founded the Metropolitan Opera Guild @MetOperaGuild and through it, Lucrecia became, for more than 30 years, the "factotum" of New York opera.
