RE: pricing strategies in web3 games I am very unhappy with games with automatically high buy-in prices that scale with demand. I think it is a market failure since lots of free players will churn or are priced out / sidelined The way I would solve it is separate the speculative assets (‘economically relevant assets’ -- level 8 Metaversus, link in bio) from gameplay assets And allow speculative assets (governance/ecosystem token) to also earn from gameplay spend You can have NFTs that are speculative too Progressive levels of speculation, without gating gameplay @ParallelTCG did this pretty well with F2P cards, and then having NFTs gives you more speculative asset rewards Their NFTs have ingame value It’s just that they don’t gate you from playing with anyone else So there’s a speculative layer on top of gameplay

A little history about FTM_Versus! 🧵 - The idea orginally started out at the end of '21 as a "web3 comic store" this was during the time $DEATH was building a TCG, Weaponized countries were hot, and a few other teams were building games. Unfortunately most of these faded away and we went back to the drawing board. - Spring of '22 brought the second iteration we called "MetaVersus!" But it didn't seem like an appropriate time to launch a project that relied heavily on community participation.
