Big news from our HR department: Midco is bringing on our first-ever local intern, and we are excited to introduce her. Meet Emily, our new Human Resources Intern. Emily supports our HR Manager and helps keep the department running smoothly, from daily office operations to processes and records management. A little about Emily: she has lived in South Dakota for most of her life, with travels that have taken her to Germany and Japan, the trips she counts as favorites so far. Outside of work and planning her next adventure, she is hanging out with her two dogs, Sage and Cloe. Welcoming Emily marks something Midco invests in. Giving young minds in our community real exposure to the commercial diving and marine industry, and to the HR discipline that keeps a workplace running. Internships are how the next generation of talent gets a foot in the door, and we are proud to be part of that for the first time with a local hire. Steel and infrastructure underwater can be repaired two ways. Pull the asset out of service, dewater it, fix it on the surface, and put it back. Or send a certified crew down to do the work while it stays online. Midco handles in-service repair where downtime would cost more than the repair itself. Some underwater inspections benefit from a remotely operated vehicle. ROVs reach spaces too tight for a diver, maintain visibility in heavily contaminated water, and document infrastructure in environments where prolonged diver exposure is not the safest choice.
