You’ve never been to Middleham Tone? You must put that right one day. No finer place early on a spring morning than the high moor.

June 11, 1456: Anne Neville, Queen of England and Wife of King Richard III Is Born at Warwick Castle On June 11, 1456, Anne Neville, the future Queen of England and wife of King Richard III, was born at Warwick Castle. She was the daughter of the powerful nobleman Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick, one of the most influential figures during the turbulent Wars of the Roses. Anne's life was deeply entwined with the struggle for the English crown. Initially married to Edward of Westminster, the Lancastrian heir, she was widowed after his death in battle. She later married Richard III, then Duke of Gloucester, and became Queen of England when he ascended the throne in 1483. Her reign was brief and overshadowed by political instability. The death of her only son, Edward of Middleham, was a devastating blow, and Anne herself died in 1485 at the age of 28, just months before Richard III was defeated at the Battle of Bosworth Field, marking the end of the Plantagenet dynasty. Though her life was short, Anne Neville remains one of the most fascinating and tragic figures of medieval English history, caught between rival dynasties in one of England's bloodiest conflicts. #OTD #OnThisDay #OnThisDate #TodayInHistory #ThisDayInHistory #historyfacts #HistoricMoment #history #HistoryWillRemember #HistoricDay #DarkAges #MiddleAges #EuropeanHistory #BritishHistory #England #EnglishHistory #Medieval #WarsOfTheRoses #Plantagenets #MedievalHistory #RichardIII #MedievalEngland #HouseOfYork #YorkHistory #RoyalHistory #AnneNeville
