In a message to the nation last night, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, referring to himself as the President-elect, has issued a stark call for change, declaring that it is 'now or never' for Cameroonians to stand up against current administrative practices. The former MINCOM, strongly condemned what he described as the 'unacceptable plundering' of the country’s gold reserves. He further alleged that the nation’s oil resources are being sold off and managed in a state of total opacity. Addressing the issue of corruption, he asserted that state officials have acquired vast fortunes unjustly while in power. He also pointedly criticized the government’s public spending, specifically highlighting the 'billions he claims have been inappropriately spent at the Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland by Paul Biya. #Cameroon #Cameroonnews

The figures are there, in black and white, and they are alarming. Fifty women were murdered in 2023. Sixty-seven in 2024. Seventy-seven in 2025. And in the first quarter of 2026 alone, women's rights organizations have already recorded at least 26 new cases. Cameroon is facing a silent hemorrhage, and the government has finally decided to address it. Seven institutions (the Ministry of Communication (MINCOM), the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family (MINPROFF), the Ministry of Social Affairs (MINAS), the Ministry of Public Health (MINSANTE), the Ministry of Justice (MINJUSTICE), the General Delegation for National Security (DGSN), and the Secretariat of State for Defence (SED) held a joint press conference at the Ministry of Communication in Yaoundé. Communication Minister René Emmanuel Sadi opened the event with a clear message: violence against women and children in Cameroon is no longer a taboo issue to be handled quietly; it is a national emergency. Between 2025 and 2026, around twenty cases of violence against children, including sexual abuse and murders, were also reported across the country. These are names and faces that the public is beginning to remember: young girls killed in their neighborhoods, in their schools, and sometimes by people close to them. What makes the situation even more concerning is that these figures are likely underestimated due to widespread underreporting in a country where domestic violence often remains hidden behind closed doors. The government has promised a firm response. Whether those promises will translate into concrete action remains to be seen. #MMINews

Régimen cubano actualiza normas y refuerza el control sobre routers, drones y equipos tecnológicos El régimen cubano aprobó una amplia actualización de las regulaciones sobre telecomunicaciones y tecnología en la isla, reforzando el control estatal sobre la importación, uso y comercialización de equipos como routers, sistemas Wi-Fi, cámaras inalámbricas, drones, radios, antenas y dispositivos satelitales. Entre los cambios más relevantes aparece un mayor control sobre drones y aeronaves no tripuladas. La nueva regulación establece que cualquier importación, comercialización o utilización de estos dispositivos requerirá autorizaciones vinculadas al control del espectro radioeléctrico. La normativa también amplía y detalla el listado de equipos sujetos a autorización técnica previa, incluyendo routers, switches, puntos de acceso inalámbrico, cámaras IP, radios, sistemas satelitales y dispositivos de transmisión de datos. Otro elemento novedoso es el énfasis en las tecnologías criptográficas y de protección digital. El MINCOM podrá someter determinados equipos a evaluaciones especiales bajo supervisión de órganos vinculados al Ministerio del Interior, reforzando así el control estatal sobre herramientas de comunicación y seguridad informática. Las nuevas reglas mantienen además la prohibición sobre repetidores de señal para telefonía móvil, dispositivos utilizados por muchos ciudadanos para intentar mejorar la conectividad en medio del deterioro de la infraestructura de telecomunicaciones en el país. La actualización también alcanza las compras realizadas mediante plataformas de comercio electrónico y endurece los procedimientos aduaneros. Los equipos retenidos en frontera por falta de permisos podrán ser decomisados si el propietario no presenta la autorización requerida dentro de los plazos establecidos
