Does hiring Babcock adversely impact the Oilers ability to attract players they will be going after in free agency?
All the concerns about Babcock come from fringe players (Commodore, Corrado), rookies (Marner and unnamed Blue Jackets) and aging vets (Modano).
Why would the Oilers hire a coach (Babcock) that would adversely impact their ability to attract players to their organization? (This is rhetorical).

Isn't he the one making Marner rank his teammates' work ethic then sharing that list w/the team; healthy scratched HOF Modano in 2010-11 season leaving him stranded 1,499 career games before his retirement?
When did the Oilers become a dumping ground for individuals like this??

I would put Recchi in, I'm saying between Modano and Thornton, I would go Modano. It shouldn't be the only factor, but it should be a key indicator to give someone a leg up of someone who hasn't. Kris Letang, should he be in hall? To me no, steady elite dman, but no Norris

To me no, hall is a special place. Very good players. I would give edge to Modano because he won the cup with stats, but Thornton was elite for a few years not so much later on.

Mike Modano! And. No banners from 1981, 1991 Stanley Cup Finals!! No 2 division championships (1982, 1984). If you’re a Minnesota hockey fan, I would include the original North Stars then Wild. In my menoribila/ man cave, still knowing they’re two different franchises.
