When I moved to Richmond, @jonburkettcbs6 was one of the first reporters I met from a competing station.
I worked for @8NEWS, he worked for @CBS6 , we both reported for the 11 pm newscast. That meant we saw each other at a lot of crime scenes and he had the most incredible police sources.
He still does. In fact, he's become known as the Crime Insider over the past decade because he's so connected.
Jon reported at the Pentagon on 9/11, witnessed the execution of the DC Sniper, has covered countless murders and been to more crime scenes than he can count. He's won Emmys, Murrows, AP and other awards.
Now he's hanging up the microphone and leaving TV news after nearly 30 years. But before he goes, I knew I needed to have him on "Courtroom Insider."
It was great catching up with him again today. His storytelling talents will be greatly missed!

Pelley, on the other hand, acted like a preening, sanctimonious, blowhard. Frankly, legacy media is full of these types who arrogantly think they are the Edward R Murrows of today and that they and their organizations can do no wrong. When confronted with the dismal levels of trust the American public has in their institution they blame everyone but themselves.
Change is coming and they are not happy so they are throwing fits.
