Great Yarmouth First councillor wants more HMOs
Rupert Lowe's Great Yarmouth First councillor, Daniel McGrath, has been refused planning permission to convert an English seaside holiday let property into a HMO (House of multiple occupancy) for illegal immigrants.
'Recent Refused Application (2026): Retrospective change of use application (reference 06/26/0076/CU) for 60 York Road, Great Yarmouth NR30 2ND (near the seafront). McGrath (via his company) sought to convert a former holiday let/dwelling (C3 use) into a 7-bedroom HMO. The property had been vacant since 2019.

Daniel McGrath is the owner of Green Energy Housing Ltd, which I presume is eligible for taxpayer subsidies from the Tories' and Labour's Net Zero initiatives.

Great Yarmouth Campaign Update.
Our action day will take place on Saturday the 2nd of May, meeting at Yarmouth Stadium - there is plenty of parking available.
Arrive at 09.30, for a 10.00 start.
Yarmouth Stadium, Yarmouth Rd, Caister-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth NR30 5TE
22²We will be campaigning all day, with a location for drinks organised in the evening (to be confirmed on Saturday).
On Sunday, we will be meeting at a different location. 09.30 again, for a 10.00 start.

We have a significant amount of parking available.
For the rest of the campaign, we will be back meeting at the Stadium every morning.
