neovimいろいろいじってみたけど、telescopeやoilに馴染めず、neotreeが今の所しっくりくる感じになってる。

I would use turn signals to shift focus to open Ex windows like Neotree....pull down to focus on left window, neutral for center, and push up to focus on right pane. hahaha, Could be fun.

My setup is simple. For airgapped from AI: neovim with packer, harper lsp, centerpad, neotree, jedi vim, and that's it. Alacritty with nerd fronts but even that feels like bloat sometimes. For agentic: Homebrew claude code setup, minimal, handles global state. Vscode for hand editing or unfucking git. For blog writing: Still finding what works best. I barely let AI touch my writing as is. i just like the feeling of interacting. I'll probably just use Typora or Obsidian. All changes were made as needed, I don't spend hours tweaking, when something is needed I add it.

While neotree is open and in focus you can use ? to see the shortcuts, 's' normally does open with vertical split. And ctrl w the usual h,j,k,l to move focus btw windows

neotree and which-key up is insane bro this is overstimulating as FUCK my editor isn't allowed to have any more information than this for more than like, 30 seconds

Vim can do all of that and even better Take a look at it yourself

I love NeoTree. it feels more polished compared to NvimTree. You can have it float like this or put it on the side like Vscode. I hate that. <SUPER> E opens this.
Progress! I love it! Don’t mind that code. It’s for demo.

Neovim is so unbelievably frustrating. Doing something as simple as disabling neotree on start requires figuring which of the thousand configuration files you need to edit, then what option in this deeply nested object to configure. In this case it's hijack_netrw_behavior.

Yes, I use it on almost every project for the most agentic flows. Using it as a non interactive command (-p) is pretty cool, too. I use that to hook it into scripts and git aliases etc, e.g. I have one that drafts commit messages. (I have a long story about why this is troublesome with a single long context prompt, but CC does a much better job most of the time). I also have a neotree plugin I wrote for selecting big context and using that to chat within neovim. I use @yacineMTB ‘s dingllm to work directly within files. I also use @simonw very good llm cli tool. That’s pretty much my whole cli/tmux llm dev stack right now. I’m rooting for aider and keen to see how Gemini cli works out too!

Many are sharp tools for my workflows, but I also made a 24/7 AI edge traffic intersection monitor. PNG compositor. Pomodoro timer. Feedback email drafter. Neotree plugin for selecting files & prompting with context (like Repo Prompt). Git commit message drafter.

Fantastic to see the @neotree team delivering this today. Brilliantly pulled together by @felicityfitzgerald and our Neotree Zim team. Showcasing AI and Neotree work.

Absolutely love using AI to customize my nvim config Asked it to generate a lua file with 4-5 most popular file trees (oil.nvim, neotree etc) with all the current shortcuts I use. Got to play around with a bunch of new things that would normally take me 30 minutes to look around and set up. gpt is such a good use case for stuff like this imo
