Writing the OSSLT counts as an official attempt. For this school year, the Ministry of Education has stated that students do not have to write the OSSLT to be enrolled in the OSSLC or apply for adjudication. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions: info@eqao.com

The first administration window for the #OSSLT is Oct 13 - Dec 1. Students are encouraged to participate but can also opt to be directly enrolled in the OSSLC or apply for adjudication without participating in the OSSLT.

I have students I am thinking of (3 siblings in my OSSLC class come to mind). Friends’ spouses who are vets, desperate to hear of their interpreter friends and families. The photos and stories are so horrific. I feel you ❤️. I hope Canada helps, ASAP, in this humanitarian crisis.

Reminders to our Grade 12’s planning to graduate w/ an OSSD in June🍎
✅ Literacy requirement has been waived this year (i.e. #OSSLT , OSSLC)
✅ Community involvement requirement is now 2️⃣0️⃣ hours from 40 this year

All students have to take the OSSLT unless they are not seeking to earn a diploma. They must put pen to paper at least once in order to be eligible to take the OSSLC. It’s a graduation requirement. Pass the test or fail the test and pass the course.

If secondary schools are doing quads, how does that effect gr 9 eqao math? Will they run it four times? and the osslc? What if a grade 10 student has English in their fourth quad, after the osslc is over?

The literacy graduation requirement (OSSLT/OSSLC) for students who are graduating in the 2019-20 school year will be waived. Students who are not graduating this school year will write the OSSLT in the upcoming 2020-21 school year.
