They told people on their discord (which I didn't even know they had) 2 weeks in advance but that's like

that's why people are making new apps though! if the dev no longer wants to be involved, it's not their responsibility to do heaps of more work when they were under the impression that octocon would be a solid replacement. if anything the octocon dev is the irresponsible one lol

FINALLY FOUND A SUITABLE SP ALT!!
would highly recommend plurallog as a simply plural & octocon alternative!
it has PK/SP import features AS WELL AS a friends and family sharing feature, so if you’re looking for a system logging app - this is it!

While local-first, now that we support format conversion via conversion.plurallog.com
PFPs don't transfer, but other stuff should. We'll be updating the converter soon.
We'll also be posting more clear guides/tooling on using relays to share with friends.

wow!!!! this app is insane. been searching for alternatives for months after sp/octocon shut down … i fw the UI heavy! one of the best i’ve seen yet, OP you’re the GOAT!!!!
found good simplyplural alt since its shutting down on june 1st,, plurallog is basically the same thing but w more features (that u can disable at any time in settings,,,,,) #systwt,,??(do ppl use this tag)

Here's our saved alternatives, no AI. We've been following plural apps since the original announcement, we're on Android though
Octocon is shutting down but will be available offline. Ampersand is being released/recently released on iOS

I tried octocon and it was ASS and i just don't know what to do tbh I might just stick with pluralkit on discord cause that's what we did before simplyplural

apparently octocon is gonna die too so i guess either big notes app like Obsidian, Notion or websites like PluralKit and PluralSpace... i'm trying out PluralSpace right now, it seems cool at first glance
