You almost certainly use a project supported by the OpenJS Foundation — even if you've never heard of it. Node.js. Electron. Jest. webpack. ESLint. jQuery. Lodash. These are just some of the projects that call the OpenJS Foundation home. Together, they are downloaded billions of times each month and power applications across every industry. The OpenJS Foundation provides these projects and their maintainers with a neutral home, open governance, shared infrastructure, and security support — so they can focus on the work itself rather than the overhead of running major open source projects alone. Open source software doesn't maintain itself. It depends on people who need support and sustainable conditions to keep doing it. → Learn more about our projects: bit.ly/4vMoLC5

Writing JavaScript since 1996. Author of Node Cookbook, lead of OpenJS Node.js Certifications, OSS creator — and now driving the peer-to-peer chapter of decentralized computing.

Ohh I thought openjs foundation will still maintain it under Facebook org? Btw what happens to the funding? Does Facebook still have engineers working on it? Or it will be managed by maintainers not part of Facebook

Dan Shappir is speaking at RenderATL. If you’ve spent time in the JavaScript world, there’s a very good chance you’ve come across Dan’s work before. He’s one of the most respected voices in frontend performance, web development, and modern JavaScript infrastructure, with years of experience teaching engineers how to build faster and smarter applications. Especially with OpenJS inside RenderATL this year, this feels like a must-see session. renderatl.com

TO THE MANAGERS TRYING TO USE THE REST OF THE TEAM BUDGET: Send your team to RenderATL. Hands-on workshops, real engineering conversations, leadership sessions, OpenJS, the AI Summit… all under one ticket. Honestly a pretty solid use of professional development budget. buff.ly/lrpSEcs

Last year was BIG. 8,000 attendees inside the conference. 15,000 people across Atlanta Tech Week. Hundreds of events happening throughout the city. And somehow… 2026 is already shaping up to be even bigger. OpenJS. The A.I. Summit. More workshops. More community. More of the people building what’s next. August 12-13 can't get here fast enough. renderatl.com

Not enough people are talking about the fact that Node.js Interactive is happening INSIDE RenderATL this year. Like… the actual OpenJS community is pulling up to Atlanta. The people behind frameworks, tooling, infrastructure, open source projects, all of it. If JavaScript has paid your bills at any point in your life, there’s probably gonna be something here for you. And the best part is you don’t have to choose between conferences or buy another ticket. It’s already included with your RenderATL pass. Get your ticket at renderatl.com
