I hope to share my suggestions on user growth
It is related with airdrop strategy, which is crucial for users growth, especially for perps. Thus, we have to take it seriously and design an attractive strategy
In short, I suggest we
1. Split the airdrop into two separate pools: a smaller one is exclusive for origin badge holders (reward users based on origin badges), and a bigger one is for point program
2. Lower the point multiplier for origin badge holders, and lower the amount of retroactive points
As a result, origin badge holders will receive good allocations even they don't have any points, while new users would have more inventives to farm perpl points because origin badge holders don't have significant advantages on getting perpl points
The benefits of this strategy:
1. Origin badge holders would be heavily rewarded, whether they join point program or not
Why should we allow early users to get good allocations even they don't have any points? because we only have 119 origin badge holders and they are defined as our core users. According to other perp airdrop cases, the small group of core users are very likely to keep most of their allocations within the platform after TGE if they receive good allocations, like become LP or join vaults
It will also be a good marketing for Perpl, cause the whole CT would talk about how early users (especially those 119 origin badge holders) changed their life
2. Whales will have more incentives to farm perpl points
If we only have one pool and give origin badge holders significant point boosters, the perpl point program will be less attractive cause new users know the origin badge holders could easily collect far more points than them with the same volume
The purpose of the point program is to onboarding new users, not collect more fees from OG users. Thus, we should not give OG users distinct advantage on the point program.
In summary, we do value OG users (origin badge holders) and will reward them heavily, but not through more perpl points. The pool for point program is bigger and given the weekly total points pool scales with total Perpl activity that epoch, it will never too late to start collecting points
I believe we will soon see the whole CT talking about perpl in this way🔥
