Airbus is increasingly considering partnering with Sweden’s Saab after the collapse of the Franco-German-Spanish FCAS next-generation fighter program.
Airbus and Saab have held exploratory talks for at least six months, supported by improving German-Swedish defense ties.
Airbus is also evaluating involvement in the UK-Italy-Japan GCAP fighter project, with Leonardo signaling Germany would be a welcome partner.
