Hon’ble
@nitin_gadkari Ji, I recently travelled from Bengaluru to Goa by road, and I must say—barring a few good stretches, toll collection feels like broad daylight robbery.
Here are specific problem areas on this route:
1. NH48: Bengaluru → Tumakuru → Chitradurga
Ongoing construction, multiple diversions, and poorly maintained temporary roads. Driving conditions are unsafe despite toll collection.
2. NH48: Chitradurga → Davanagere → Hubballi
Frequent surface inconsistencies, patchwork repairs, and potholes. You rarely get a continuous smooth stretch for long.
3. Hubballi → Yellapur → Ankola (NH67 / NH52 / NH748)
Forest/ghat sections with narrow roads and sudden broken patches.
Particularly, the last ~10 km before NH66 (Baleguli stretch) is in very poor condition.
4. NH66 (Goa entry stretch)
Ongoing widening work leading to diversions, uneven roads, and traffic bottlenecks.
Across the entire route, it’s difficult to drive more than 15–20 minutes without encountering bad patches or surface changes. (

For the tolls being charged, the quality, safety, and consistency of these highways are simply unacceptable.
Request urgent intervention and accountability on:
- Road quality audits
- Contractor accountability
- Rationalisation of toll collection until roads meet standards
This is not just inconvenience—it’s a safety
