👩🏽‍🍳Eight JHS students earned their ProStart Certificate of Achievement (COA) for the 2025–2026 school year! They were honored Thursday at a special event, where Iowa ProStart Coordinator May Schaben and the Chef Anthony Nace presented students with their COA’s. 👏Congratulations to Kyra Anderson, Timothy Copeland, Emmanuel Curtis, Jaelyn Davenport, Joseph Feuerhelm, Addy Kueper, Emina Mehmedovic, and Dyanna Williams for earning this achievement. 📝To earn the COA, students must complete Level One and Two courses, score at least 70% on the final, work 400 hours in the restaurant industry and meet 52 of 75 of the workplace competencies.

Senior Awards Night last week celebrated our superstar seniors across every pathway! From earning private pilot licenses & CNA certifications to achieving Revit, CAD, & ProStart Certificates of Achievement, these students have accomplished so much. 🎓✨

During our regularly scheduled May Board of Education meeting, several students and staff were celebrated for their recent achievements: 📚️@OHEHawks' Elizabeth Brassfield was recognized at the BOE meeting with an Excellence in Education Award. 🏆️@westjags' ProStart restaurant management team won the national title in the restaurant management division at the 2026 National ProStart Invitational, hosted by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. 💚 @SWTimberwolves' Devika Krishna was selected as one of 150 local Kansas City artists to design a heart for the 2026 Parade of Hearts. Krishna’s heart, The Water Lilies, is on display at Zona Rosa. 💫 Blue Valley Schools' Karen Tolar was recognized at the BOE meeting with a Distinguished Service Award. Missouri students delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 National ProStart Invitational 🍽️ ✨ Herndon Career Center earned 1st place in the national culinary competition, demonstrating exceptional skill, creativity, and execution. Independence School District also represented Missouri in the management category, highlighting strong business and operational expertise. Missouri’s ProStart program continues to open doors for students, connecting classroom learning with real-world experience in the hospitality industry.
