⚡️ Translation of Shihab Rasad/Informed Source to Iranian Tasnim Agency: The challenge over the first clause and the clause related to the Strait of Hormuz continued until the last minutes of the announcement of the understanding.
An informed source told Tasnim that the various challenges between Iran and the United States over different clauses of the memorandum of understanding continued until the last minutes before the announcement.
The interlocutor mentioned some changes that were made in the last day or two and the hours before the announcement of the memorandum of understanding as follows:
1⃣ Adding the phrase "guaranteeing the sovereignty and respecting the territorial integrity of Lebanon" to the first clause of the memorandum of understanding (Trump did not accept adding this phrase in previous texts).
2⃣ Adding the phrase "management of maritime navigation services in the Strait of Hormuz by Iran and Oman" to clause 5 of the memorandum of understanding.
3⃣ Exemption from collecting fees from ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz for 60 days (Iran intends to collect service fees from ships thereafter).
He also stressed: Trump was determined that the Strait of Hormuz and the blockade be opened simultaneously immediately upon the announcement of the understanding; however, Iran did not accept this and it was agreed that the process of reopening the Strait of Hormuz would begin after the signing of the understanding on Friday. In his social media post, Trump initially announced that the strait and the blockade had been opened simultaneously, but after Iran alerted the Pakistani mediator, Trump amended his post and wrote that the Strait of Hormuz would open after Friday.
