The Senate is one of the two bodies that can declare war. The other being the House of Representatives.
A formal declaration requires a majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate before it can be signed into law.
@SenateGOP @SenateDems @congressdotgov
You know that our Senators spend a lot of time on X and other platforms. Many talk a mad game. Some posted about Pride month. About the UFC fight. Some posted about Flag Day. One person actually posted about the Pulse nightclub shooting.
As I sit in front of the television, watching the UFC fight, I reviewed every single Senator's X and Facebook.
I wanted to see how many of these, that vote to declare war, took the time to send the United States Army a Happy Birthday.
Some may think it's petty of me.
For me, it's important.
I bled, sweated, comforted, treated, smoked with, drank with, listen to stories, stood with them during Final Roll Call, played Call of Duty....You know what Real Siblings do. We did.
While the U.S. military has 335 domestic installations spread across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., the U.S. Army specifically has major active-duty bases, garrisons, and depots located across roughly 40 states.
In Texas:
@tedcruz @JohnCornyn
My Senators in Texas, couldn't post a small blurb, when we have
๐บ๐ธFort Hood(34,000 to 40,000 active-duty soldiers.),
๐บ๐ธFort Bliss is home to approximately 36,800 active-duty soldiers,
๐บ๐ธJoint Base San Antonio (JBSA) hosts approximately 11,955 active-duty Army National Guard and Reserve troops, along with around 36,000 active-duty personnel
๐บ๐ธArmy Futures Command (Austin): Headquartered in downtown Austin, this command leads the modernization and transformation of the U.S. Army.
๐บ๐ธCorpus Christi Army Depot(CCAD),
๐บ๐ธRed River Army Depot (RRAD). and who knows what else we have.
CCAD and RRAD have small numbers. NEVERTHELESS.
Those who couldn't take the time, EAT A DICK!!!!!!!
Take the fucking time to acknowledge history of our armed services. Put it on your calendar.
I ask that you check on your Congressional Representatives. Did they take the time to post a blurb?
I am off my soap box.
