Tell me if your LG chairman or governor can influence fuel price. Can your LG chairman influence exchange rate? Can your governor fix an import duty for your state?
While those other levels of governance are important, the macroeconomic indices of any nation is the remit of the national government, and until it's fixed, the other levels of government can do little or nothing. Moreso in an economy where the national resources is owned by the central government and you only get to get based on the portion of yam you're given.
The states and LG can't even pay their staff a living wage, and you expect them to provide social safety net.
Moreover, your argument about population is also mute. There's no part of the system government can't regulate. Our population is not up to that of China, India or United States. But China was able to regulate it's population at a point with one child policy. Now that they have achieved national economic prosperity, the policy has been reversed and they're even incentivising child birth.
I don't know why when you guys reference these countries, you don't see good that their government is doing to copy. You only reference to gaslight Nigerians.

Tickertape: the charges
When you remit, you get a USD conversion rate. Mine was roughly ₹2 above the prevailing market rate.
On a ₹5 lakh remittance - that's ₹10,000 gone before a single trade is placed.
Plus ₹1,000 per remittance as a bank transfer charge on top.
These charges aren't unreasonable in isolation. But nowhere during onboarding were they clearly laid out. I picked Kotak as my linked bank without knowing the rate differential. Different banks give meaningfully different rates - that information should be upfront, not discovered after the fact.

They’re many great alternatives like world remit, Remitly, ria, Xoom, sendwave to mention but a few, and you can receive directly to you mobile money account. So it’s dependent on senders location

My company recently gave out Keke to five riders 3 Hausa and two of my Igbo brothers.
The hire purchase was 6.5m, to remit 60k every week. Mind you, other companies charge 70-80k on 7.5m hire purchase, My guys knew this.
For the first month, they remitted normally every Friday.
Then I noticed one of them, who is even from my side, started misbehaving.
He wouldn’t remit until Sunday.
I pretended as if I didn’t know what was going on.
Like play like play, two other riders in his badge started doing the same thing and it because a habit.Maybe he felt i wont notice.
I remember my PA calling to remind me that the Igbo guy hadn’t paid for one week and he didn’t even call to give reasons why.
One day we calculated and it was two weeks he stylised didn't pay.
Their Keke isn’t up to 6 months oooo.
So early last month, I called the five of them to my office.
They came. I collected all their keys and told them to leave my office.
But before they left, I called the two who had no issues and handed them back their keys.
The Igbo guy went and brought his mother with the 120k he had defaulted on, crying, begging, saying he won’t do it again.
Today makes it one month and one weeks since I gave him back the Keke and he has not defaulted since. Including the Hausa guys he had corrupted.
If you don’t install discipline early, human beings will think you are weak. I actually seized the Keke for one week despite his mother’s plea.
The same Igbo guy who started this whole thing called me this morning, just to say hello 🤣🤣 that he wants to greet me and my family.
