I flat out think most students shouldn't be recruitable outside of their route. Instead having more faculty you could recruit to fill out the later half of the game, or route original characters.

I think dedues character would work better for me if he was kinda conflicted abt Dimitri/recruitable to other routes. If there had to be a blue lion that was ride or die for AM i honestly think Ingrid would have worked better or maybe even Felix for the dramatic irony of it

I agree 100% I think Dedue has a few reasons as to why he stays with the Blue Lions, but tbh he has more reason to be fully against them I think he would’ve been perfect if he had internal conflicts & was recruitable, I think Felix makes the most sense as the locked character
