15 years ago today—after five long months of beginning to relearn how to walk and talk—I was released from TIRR Memorial Hermann. I’ll always remember how it felt reaching this milestone as I readied myself for the road ahead. Like so many victims of gun violence, my recovery is a lifelong journey. After being shot in the head, I was left partially paralyzed and with a condition called aphasia. Words used to come so easily to me, and now I struggle to speak. As I reflect on how far I’ve come in the past 15 years, I know I could never have done it alone. I’ll forever be grateful to the doctors, nurses, and therapists who fought this battle alongside me in those early days. They are true heroes ♥️

Good morning!

Most companies think they have an AI adoption problem. They don’t. They have an unlearning problem, according to Deloitte vice chair China Widener.

“If I said to you, ‘Everything you know about making spaghetti, I need you to let go of,’ you would look at me like I was stupid,” she said. “We aren’t talking about things that didn’t work. We are asking people to let go of things they have done every day for five or 10 or 20 years that worked, and we’re asking them to stop.”

For AI adoption to succeed, employees must unlearn, relearn, and learn simultaneously, Widener told me at the Fortune Brainstorm Tech conference last week. That’s easier said than done, especially when organizations are devoting far more resources to AI tools than to helping employees adapt to them.

Widener cited a Deloitte study showing that executives spend 93% of their AI budget on technology and only 7% on workforce adoption.

Eric Vaughan, CEO of enterprise-software company IgniteTech, sees the problem differently. He argued that the issue isn’t the tech spend or a skills gap—it’s employee resistance.

Vaughan said he laid off roughly 80% of his employees because they refused to embrace AI despite a year of training. “We took 20% of our entire payroll for one day a week for an entire quarter to get people to learn AI and still found people that said, ‘I’m not going to do it,’” he shared at the conference. “So we had to replace them, and if I were to do it over again, I would have started with that first.”

Whether the obstacle is unlearning or outright resistance, both leaders agree on one point: AI adoption is ultimately a cultural challenge.

“If your team isn’t in sync with you, or doesn’t believe in the mission,” said Vaughan, “I don’t think any amount of training or skills or strategy is going to fix that problem.”

Kristin Stoller
Editorial Director, Fortune Live Media
kristin.stoller@fortune.com

This story was originally featured on Fortune.com
fortune.com/2026/06/15/this-…

The time has come, despite a year and a half of recovery, constantly trying to relearn how to play guitar I have accepted I no longer have the requisite sensation or hand strength in my left hand. That said it is time to let go of this stuff. Rest of the gear will be below. As usual I am going to try and price this as fair as possible. Guitar is a PRS SE Swamp Ash CE 24 Sandblasted Limited Edition with an electronic swap and replaced with EMG Jim Root Daemonum's ($250 upgrade) and Hipshot Grip-Lock Open Gear tuners and all of the factory PRS Electronics and tuners will be included as well. I think $600 is fair for everything. Below will be added posts for a pedalboard with pedals and an Orange tube head and cab as well.

Replying to @elonmusk
@grok given the current situation in the Relearn and given the Kings responsibility to His Subjects which God has entrusted in his sovereign (I believe that’s how kings see this ) ; the Monarch should dissolve the House of Commons tonight , on the Prime Minister’s advice, and call a snap general election next week

I understand completely. To have to rethink and relearn to adapt your style in a new way is always different. He is INCREDIBLY quick and will bounce back real soon.
