A “palmetto bug” is the Southern nickname for large cockroaches, primarily the American cockroach or the smoky brown cockroach. Named for their habit of living in palmetto trees. They grow to 1 to 2 inches long, have wings, and are known to fly short distances, usually when startled.
They are different from regular roaches. Unlike smaller, indoor-infesting pests like German cockroaches, palmetto bugs are primarily outdoor insects. They thrive in warm, humid climates and only wander indoors looking for food, water, or shelter — often after rains or extreme temperature shifts. They do not bite humans or typically cause indoor infestations.
Many in the South Carolina community forums agree that spreading diatomaceous earth or spraying diluted peppermint oil around entry points acts as an affective, pet-safe deterrent.
I have not encountered one of these palmetto bugs as of yet. Nor do I wish to. I have heard horror stories about them and I am scared. Have you ever dealt with these bugs?

J6ers walked through open doors, spent minutes inside, chanted “Stop the Steal,” and left peacefully. No central command. No dark money pipelines. No pre-staged logistics. We got raided by dozens of FBI agents, shackled, imprisoned for misdemeanors, and had our lives destroyed.
Antifa gets bail funds, NGO support, sympathetic coverage, and zero accountability. Their riots caused billions in damage, killed people, and burned American cities. That’s not protest. That’s organized political violence.
ANTIFA is organized violence and domestic terrorism that corporate media propaganda protects and calls simply an idea.
Democrat protesters even if arrested 95% of the cases dropped.
This is Communism dressed up as Democratic Socialism. And no one is coming to save the USA unless we expose it and stand together.
