To all the ChatGPT ‘graphic design is dead’ celebrants… in my 35 of years of top level career I have NEVER met, or worked with, an Art Director or Creative Director who would ever say “Yay, you made an image. You nailed it”.
They simply see it as something to thoroughly pull apart and dissect. Over and over.
They will move things by 8 degrees counter clockwise simply because they can, they will dial things up/down depending on their caffeine intake that day, they will request 5 or 6 different versions (at least) going from “centre, to right (more corporate), to left (have fun with it), they will require the image to reflect parts of the obscure mood board, and it MUST reflect brand guidelines, they will expect all this in 3 hours for their client meeting. And even then, you will have to start all over again. And don’t even get me started on typography.
Oh and it a must meet the highly specific image output guidelines before you send it over to reprographics.
That’s a professional Graphic Designers life.
Prompts are fun. But they ain’t real life.
