When Hou Jing raised his troops, he had fewer than 10,000 men—his old retainers from home—but by the time he reached Jiankang, his forces had swelled to over 100,000. Hou Jing was a northerner who had just defected; in the Southern Dynasties, his prestige was barely above zero at best. How could he possibly mobilize such a massive army? This clearly shows that by the end of Southern Liang, the people's hearts were utterly lost—even Emperor Xiao Yan himself was left speechless upon hearing the news. Yet some later generations have turned cause and effect on their heads, claiming that Hou Jing's rebellion was the source of the Southern Dynasties' decline—this is nothing but a crude accounting trick. It's just an attempt to whitewash the Southern Dynasties' self-inflicted internal decay as some freak external accident.

Local retail shops get ignored by big agencies. Locale changes that. AI-powered automation for local businesses — loyalty, SMS, reviews, repeat revenue. No bloated retainers. No 6-month contracts. From vape shops to car washes. Real results, not fluff.

France's biggest problem is their inability to establish control after winning the ball. Too many possessions end before they can create any structure. The midfield offers physicality and coverage, but not enough security or tempo-setting. Against an athletic Senegal side, every loose touch becomes a transition. When your best ball-retainers are watching from the bench, sustaining pressure becomes a lot harder.

Exchanged several messages with an agency lead, work examples, answering questions, the type of retainers I do, pricing, etc, and at the end they asked me if *I* was trying to hire *them* and that they didn't do the sort of work I talked about.

It’s no wonder so many people distrust mechanics ‘19 Grand Cherokee, recent oil cooler replacement and *partial* tune-up Came in for MIL on, stalling, hard/ no restart Idk if the previous shop is responsible for the P1404 code but holy shit, they didn’t reinstall, attach, connect, or otherwise assemble one single thing beyond the bare minimum for it start and drive out of the bay Low coolant, engine cover missing, wire harness retainers unclipped, intake tube grommet, intake manifold brace is loose & missing fasteners, coolant pipe bracket flopping around unsecured I’d fire any one of my guys if they ever sent any vehicle out the door like this.

1) if your irl allows you to be on before the market gets tanked. if you have an army of retainers to sell on ideal worlds. /after/ you've sunk hundreds of hours pre-crafting and gathering before patch. /after/ you manage to beat mb bots undercutting. 2) rng drop, not guaranteed.

This particular retention is for advanced retainers. Many teachers say run from triggers, here I'm saying use your triggers. I also advocate understanding your strength. Even me has a limit.

$315K ask. $288K revenue. $126K profit. 44% margins. 2.5x multiple. That margin is the first thing I look at fr. A 44% profit margin in a services business usually means one thing, they figured out how not to throw headcount at every client problem. And that's exactly what's happening here. The AI stack is actually doing the labour, not just sitting in the pitch deck. The business does demand gen and sales enablement for B2B clients. Full funnel. They use Claude Code, Clay, n8n, Instantly, and OpenAI to do what a 6-person agency team would normally do. But here's what I actually care about, they have an in-house engineer building internal tooling for proposals, ICP targeting, and reporting, which is the real asset. Not the client list, but the proprietary delivery infrastructure sitting on top of commodity AI tools. Its revenue went from $107K in 2024 to $218K in 2025. That's 2x, and $106K was already booked in Q1 2026 alone. So if the run rate holds, they're tracking toward $400K this year, but that's a big if. What slows me down is concentration risk. Agency businesses at this size almost always have 2-3 clients driving 60-70% of revenue, and if one pulls out during transition, the math changes fast. The other thing I keep thinking about is how crowded this category has gotten. Everyone's pitching AI-enhanced agency right now, so the differentiation really lives in the tooling they've built, and you'd need to sit in the weeds to know how defensible that actually is. At $315K, you're paying 2.5x profit. For a B2B services business with documented systems, growing revenue, and real AI-driven margins, that's fair. Not a steal, but not stretched either. Three questions before I'd move.. >One, what does client concentration look like, and are the contracts monthly retainers or project-based? >Two, how much of the delivery is founder-dependent right now, because what breaks on day 31 post-close matters more than anything else. >Three, what's the engineer's situation? Is there a stay agreement, or do they walk out with the founder? If the top 3 clients are on 6-month-plus retainers and the engineer is locked in through transition, this is worth a serious look. But if it's mostly month-to-month and the founder is the product, I would pass. @acquiredotcom

THIS 2-YEAR-OLD APPLE VIDEO REVEALS THE BEST AI AGENT NODE TO MAKE $5,000 IN YOUR FIRST MONTH deploying autonomous agents like OpenClaw or Hermes Agent locally is a B2B goldmine. Apple's M4 Mac Mini starts at $599 and is the most energy-efficient micro-server to host 24/7 loops local hardware comparison breakdown: 1. Mac Mini M4 ($599) runs cool at 45W and makes a perfect headless server for basic agents 2. GMKtec EVO X2 with Strix Halo allocates 96GB VRAM to run Qwen 235B but has high power draw 3. Nvidia DGX Spark superchip runs Blackwell FP4 models natively but requires high capital budget 4. Custom Multi-GPU PC gives maximum CUDA speed for fast self-improving reasoning loops OpenClaw's context accretion throttles low-end processors. migrating the execution nodes to Hermes Agent with SQLite memory compression runs roys of agents for zero token cost indie builders deploy these headless micro-servers under the desk for client retainers, printing $5,000/month with zero hosting fees Read the full 30-day hardware benchmark and local deployment playbook ↓

Most small businesses know they need video content. They can't edit it. That's ClipForge — short-form editing for local brands, creators, and agencies on monthly retainers.

Bail only retainers are about to sky rocket. This reminds me of how my professor said “we all hate the police but the police is why we even have a profession” 😭
