Yaaay 😇 it did reach Ania … X is special sometimes 🙌 The founder of Rootd saw it, reposted it, and liked a few of my posts. This is why I love writing about indie apps. One real founder story can travel further than any generic growth thread.

Most indie apps start with a feature idea. Rootd started with a panic attack. Ania Wysocka had her first panic attack while away from home. She opened her phone looking for help. Nothing felt simple. Nothing felt human. So she built Rootd. A panic attack relief app. She wasn’t a coder. No VC funding. No employees. Just a deeply personal problem turned into a product. Today, Rootd has helped 2M people and reached 7-figure recurring revenue. Some apps don’t start with a market gap. They start with one terrifying moment the founder never forgot.

Lol, where did you get all those nonsense additions to the character? Katniss is a white girl. Olive skin is a Caucasian Trait. It means she most likely has mediteranean European rootd, being 1% native is still white too. She was written by a white woman, She is obviously White.

Ania 在 Instagram 和 YouTube 上持续连载 "How One Woman Built A $1M/Year App" 系列。

Ania Wysocka built Rootd after experiencing her first panic attack in college. Unable to find an app that actually helped, she decided to build one herself. With no coding background, she sketched ideas in a notebook, built wireframes in Photoshop, then partnered with a student developer to launch an MVP — centered around a single "panic attack button." Growth was slow but steady. It took three years to hit 1M downloads. Her playbook was straightforward: → Show up in communities and be genuinely helpful → Send personalized cold emails to mental health journalists → Optimize the App Store listing so the app delivers on its promises — good reviews drive more discovery. Today: 4M downloads. $1M in revenue. The most important metric for Ania? Not revenue — the quality of user reviews. Her advice for anyone just starting out: Listen closely to your users. Stay persistent with your MVP. Take care of your own mental health while you build.
