Today, SCPD remembers Det. Carmine Macchia who died on 6/15/78. During the pursuit of a stolen vehicle, his and P.O. Al Sabia's vehicle crashed at the intersection of Straight Path and Sunrise Hwy in Lindenhurst. Macchia died at Brunswick Hospital. He was survived by his wife.

SCPD and the department's LGBTQ Society marched in Huntington Village for the 36th Annual Long Island Pride Parade, Concert & Festival. Thousands came together to enjoy food, music and activities but more importantly the gathering represented bringing the community together.

Okay, we have 2 SCPD missions: Past Master - Rapid Response and Block Buster - Interceptor.

SCPD members took part in a culinary competition at Atria Patchogue. Atria's Dir. of Culinary Services Chef Tom and Sous Chef Alan faced off against P.O. Thomas Joy  and Owner of TOA Asian Fusion Evan Chen for an epic cook-off.  Congrats to Team Atria for their win!
