A serious road accident has happened at Musaale, Ssisa off Entebbe Road after a speeding Police Patrol vehicle number UP 00066 knocked down a Chinese road construction worker on Kisubi–Kasanje–Mpigi Road. The victim was rushed to hospital after initially being presumed dead. Residents say reckless speeding on this road is becoming too much as they continue living in dust and fear daily. Authorities should act before more lives are lost.

In record time, following credible intelligence and public concerns over an illegal firearm, officers successfully recovered a pistol and arrested 16 suspects in areas including Wamala, Buzzi, Lutaba, and Ssisa Village. This prompt action once again demonstrates the high level of professionalism, vigilance, and readiness of our Crime Intelligence officers. This is not an isolated case. Time and again, the Crime Intelligence Directorate has shown remarkable efficiency in handling similar operations across the country, leading to the recovery of illegal arms, dismantling of criminal networks, and the arrest of suspects before they cause further harm. Their ability to act quickly on intelligence has greatly contributed to making our communities safer. I extend my sincere thanks to the team commanders on the ground who led this operation, and to AIGP @AigpDamulira , the Director of Crime Intelligence, for keeping their ears and eyes firmly on the ground. Your dedication and commitment to public safety are truly commendable. The operation followed public outcry regarding an individual suspected of being in possession of an illegal firearm. A total of 16 suspects were arrested during the exercise. One of the suspects, identified as Segujja Ronald, later led officers to the recovery of the pistol, which has since been secured as an exhibit. All suspects are currently in police custody and will be produced before court in due course.
