It was farm week for @A4CWaterloo and @STEMovation! @LaurierEdu students introduced the kids to ‘the kids’, made a model stomach, and started their plants pets. We so appreciate the great community support from our favourite local farmer!
STEMovation is thrilled to be partnering with Adventure for Change after school on Mondays in Waterloo! This week our Laurier STEMovators helped kids code robots, study the Moon’s craters, and make bath fizzers.
Actua is thrilled to be announced as a recipient of the Government of Canada’s Strategic Science Fund and looks forward to continuing to scale and deepen our work to build a more inclusive and diverse #STEM ecosystem. canada.ca/en/innovation-scie…

What does STEMovation do?
STEMovation provides inclusive and engaging STEM programming for groups under-represented in STEM fields to create positive STEM identities.
We provide:
- free STEM outreach events at schools
- an online portal with free STEM activities and resources
ALT At the top of the post is the STEMovation logo, and right below is the title “What Do We Do” in large text. Below it, the robot icon STEMY has a speech bubble that says, “STEMovation provides inclusive and engaging STEM programming for children and families from groups under-represented in STEM fields. We hope to help children build a positive STEM identity, particularly for those from equity-seeking groups.” Right under the text is, “We provide, free after-school STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) outreach events at school sites in the Waterloo Region, and an online portal with free STEM activities and resources.”
The Gov't of Canada announced more than $3.3 million in new funding for seven @Laurier research projects. Thank you @SSHRC_CRSH and @NSERC_CRSNG for your investment in our inspired research.

I remain- trepidatiously. I find the X symbol ominous, and I don’t feel safe with its owner, but there is no where else I feel connected like I do in the FKAT world (formerly known as Twitter).
I lay awake at night wondering. <grin> I have accounts at IG, FB, Threads, and Mastodon but haven't had anywhere near the success so I see myself staying here for a while anyway. Dance with the one you brought to the dance.
@LaurierEdu and @wrdsb final #STEMovation event for the 2022-23 year. An engaging and interactive event for families to learn more about the beauty of STEM. An incredible group of teacher candidates bringing it all together. Big thanks to @aebeek for getting the funding! #STEM
#STEM is for everyone: that's the message behind STEMovation, a new community-based initiative from @LaurierEdu.
STEMovation aims to encourage traditionally underrepresented groups to see themselves in STEM through fun, hands-on activities.
