We were happy to participate in this great event. Aside from the awesomeness of touring the hurricane hunter aircraft, it was great to have our first-ever SWRCC booth! Shown here are meteorologists Ally & Trey talking about hail sizes. Thanks to @NWSAlbany for letting us join in!
Thank you to the staff of @NWSAlbany , @NWSBinghamton, @NWSNERFC, & @NWSEastern for putting on a great event today for the Hurricane Awareness Tour at @AlbanyAirport--and ordering up perfect weather! See you soon Norfolk!

I like "better than 50%" chance of clear skies in Albany tomorrow - predictions from @ualbany NY SWRCC !!
Here's an example of the eclipse briefings we've been creating: each briefing has consisted of a weather summary page followed by an in-depth briefing for a variety of key locations. These pages go in to greater detail - sometimes with the types of clouds that may be experienced.

Ok, so we can't forecast earthquakes at the NY SWRCC, but we do assist with other planetary phenomenon. Did you know that aside from doing briefings on hazardous weather, we also create detailed eclipse briefings? Here's today's summary page for eclipse weather in NY. 🌞🌑😎

Big thanks to the @NYSDOT for welcoming us on their podcast! It was great to talk about the ways they go about preparing for big weather events, and how the SWRCC can help along the way.

This nice freezing rain accumulation graphic was made today by SWRCC intern Jack Conklin! Jack is one of six undergraduate interns this semester in either meteorology or emergency management disciplines.
Here is a map of ice accumulation reports from last night through this morning. The highest report was from Morristown NY, of 0.5 inches of ice! More freezing rain is expected tonight which can cause more problems and possible power outages. #nywx #nny

Thanks Matt! I'm not exactly sure what role we may have played, but I enjoy the idea of Governor Hochul telling Roger Goodell she just heard from the SWRCC. Thankfully, the many level-headed NFL fans are taking it in stride. 🙃 This active weather is certainly keeping us busy!
