In my opinion, it was the scriptwriter’s way of asking an age-old question: If you knew your time was running out, how would you choose to live? #XiaoZhan #ADLAD Even while carrying a terminal illness, even while knowing that his days were numbered, Patient No. 5 still chose to set out in search of answers about his own fate. More importantly, he never stopped longing to love and to be loved. Whether love brings joy or the pain of parting, those emotions—beautiful or bittersweet—remain proof that we have truly lived. As for Xiao Zhan, no amount of words could fully capture the emotions his performance stirred in me. Watching Patient No. 5 bend down to pick up Jiang Hong's letter and then struggle to stand again, I felt as though an invisible weight were pressing heavily against my chest. Patient No. 5 will forever remain an unattainable dream of mine. Even so, the few scenes that have been revealed are already enough for me to know that I would have fallen deeply in love with this character.
