You still haven't addressed the part, "retain" as you're struggling.
It's true that believers receive the Holy Spirit but it doesn't mean that every believer has the same authority.
St. Stephen was set apart along with other 6 men, and appointed by the Apostles through laying on of hands for ministry in Acts 6. The Apostles also appointed bishops/overseers (1 Tim 3:1–7; Titus 1:7), elders/presbyters (Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5; James 5:14), and deacons. (Acts 6:1–6; 1 Tim 3:8–13) It seems that the Apostles had the different concept of authority from yours.
The Catholic Church still practises the biblical laying on of hands on new priests every year since the time of Apostles 2000 years ago.
Since you mentioned, "He also gave me and millions of others the Holy Spirit," I'm curious.
Look at Acts 15. Jesus NEVER taught that circumcision was unnecessary for salvation. The Apostles also didn't know this. But they never said, "Read Scripture" or "Receive the Holy Spirit." Instead, they held a council with the elders, debated fiercely on circumcision issue, and resolved it with declaration, "For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and us..." (Acts 15:28) That theological dispute was resolved by a visible authority given by Christ to the Apostles under the guide of the Holy Spirit.
So where's a single council in protestantism or your claim of the Holy Spirit that binds all believers today on issues like contraception, divorce and remarriage, morality, worship, church practice and recently AI over 500 years of reformation?
The Catholic Church had resolved many theological disputes through councils under the guide of the Holy Spirit over 2000 years, including the canonisation of the Bible. In the 4th century, the Councils of Rome, Hippo, and Carthage discerned what is and what is not Scripture, debated over list of books, and canonized 73-book Bible. Those councils belonged to the Catholic Church.
Since you have failed to address the part, "retain," your argument already crumbles. Worse, you made blasphemy by calling the Spirit "impotent." This is why we don't accept your private opinion. You're dismissed.
