Dokken Album Ranking from Worst to Best #6: Dysfunctional (1995) I bet some of you were expecting this to be higher. While I still think this is a REALLY good album, I don’t think it stacks up to the rest that’s left. My biggest issue with this album is George Lynch’s guitar tone! I FUCKING HATE that he resorted to a down tuned, “Grunge” tone for this album. Which honesty should make what he did on Shadowlife LESS surprising!😂 The vocal harmonies on this album however are OFF THE CHARTS! Maybe the best of the bands entire career! Some of these hooks really stick in your head because of them. I just WISH the music was a LITTLE better! The opener ‘Inside Looking Out’ is probably the most “George Lynch” sounding riff on the album. It’s not too down tuned…but’s it’s DAMN close😂 ‘Hole In My Head’ is where we REALLY hear Grungy George Lynch😂 But I love the vocals so they make up for it! I think ‘The Maze’ is boring…sorry🤷🏼‍♂️ ‘Too High To Fly’ is the best song on this album. Even though that riff STILL irritates me!😂 It’s the most well constructed song on the album and the most memorable. A top ten Dokken song for sure! ‘Shadows Of Life’ might be the most “classic” sounding Dokken song on the album. That main riff and verse riff KILLS! Another pretty good track is ‘Lesser Of Two Evils’! That songs got a really good hook! Overall, I think this definitely belongs in the top half of the ranking! A really Good example of an 80s band surviving (in their own way😂) the 90s! I don’t think it’s perfect, but it’s VERY respectable!

Dokken Album Ranking from Worst to Best #12: Shadowlife (1997) I’m NOT speaking hyperbole when I say this is one of the WORST albums EVER MADE…in ALL of music! GAWD, everything about this is so FUCKING bad…right down to the shitty album cover where they didn’t even insert the BAND LOGO properly! What in the FUCK is that crop job?!😂 Now, the story goes that George Lynch purposely sabotaged this album just so he could get kicked out of the band again. And you know what…I BELIEVE IT because NOTHING on this album sounds like Dokken OR Lynch😂 It’s just shitty attempts at Alt Rock or Grunge, with a vocalist who’s voice is the FARTHEST THING from that style, it’s not even funny! Please pray for my bleeding ears because I actually went back and listen to this thing to try finding ANYTHING salvageable. And guess what…I FOUND NOTHING😂 God, I’m never listening to this thing EVER AGAIN. I FUCKING HATE this album with a burning passion (in case you couldn’t tell😂). Youth Sonic聴いた後にDOKKENのShadowlife聴いてみたんだけどなるほどね！ってなった オルタナ、グランジ系統好きな人はかなりハマるかもしれない！ HR/HM好きな人が聴くとんー…って感じはあるがこれこそたくさんのバンドに触れてこないと良さがわからないアルバムかもしれない！ 今聴くと結構良き！
