π¨ BREAKING: Three schools in Bristolβs Speedwell area were placed into precautionary lockdown this afternoon after a shooting incident on Speedwell Road.
Police were called at around 1:47pm following reports of a gun being fired at a car. A man in his twenties was taken to hospital with serious, potentially life-changing injuries (not believed to be life-threatening).
The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s, slim build, around 6ft tall, wearing a grey hoodie, black trousers and a balaclava. He fled on a black and grey electric bike towards Soundwell.
Affected schools: Bristol Brunel Academy, Two Mile Hill Primary School, and Chester Park Infant School.
Avon and Somerset Police have deployed firearms officers, a helicopter, and are carrying out extra patrols. No arrests yet, the manhunt is ongoing.
