Here are two more that I snagged 1:64ths of at the Flea Market in Daytona during Speedweeks this year.
The red/silver/black combo on the 24 is sick, while I actually like the 4 better than the traditional Kodak scheme, which itself is iconic.
iMODs next for set one of their 8-lap heat races.
One of the favorites Chris Beaulieu (you know him @EBeaulieu56?) has competed in all kinds of open wheel cars including Sprint Cars and dirt mods most recently in the Wild West Shootout in AZ & previously during FL Speedweeks.
.@OPHeadquarters Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by @kistlerracing Stat 3️⃣ This millennium has hosted the Speedweeks with the most and least events completed.
That’s the year I first saw Moyer race, at Volusia County during speedweeks. Then later that summer, damn if he didn’t show up at Duck River and win. Had heard of him, but never seen him race until 1985.
It used to feel like the 24 Hours led right into the 500 with the Shootout, IROC, Qualifying, Twins, then the 500, Daytona was everything for a month. Now, the 24 Hours is mostly behind a paywall and Speedweeks is gone.
Been playing catch-up on all the things missed. When I say I was *off the grid* — I mean off the grid!
No social media for two weeks (which admittedly was very nice — I recommend it for anyone who can)
Anyways, here’s a list of everything that’s happened since my hiatus (May 12):
- James Trantina buys North Central Speedway in Brainerd, Minn.
- Tim McCreadie back in victory lane
- PA scores big with Zarin, Miley (semis) and Zeigler WoO victories
- ‘27 GA-FL Speedweeks schedule unveiled
- Mansfield makes ultra-successful return
- Kyle Busch passes 😢
- HOFer Don Hester passes ☹️
- Bobby Pierce wins $100,000 in four days
- Billy Moyer AK chassis swap (I had actually gotten a text about this but decided to see my social media fast through)
- Someone allegedly stirs up (and miserably) false rumors that Rocket Chassis has been sold
- Basically rained 40 days, 40 nights
Anything else missed from the Dirt Late Model world the last two weeks?

There was nothing wrong with three segments and a ten lap shootout at the all star race. The Clash was simple and kicked off Speedweeks. This diluting the field and gimmicks is what ruined both events.
Pretty cool to see they built a race track at Grandview Live by Daytona Beach! The dirt track community has supported that place in full force for a long time during speedweeks!
