P365XL Issues Expose Gun Marketing Hype—My Springfield XD Runs Flawless
#GunInfluencerBS
Gun influencers and marketing crown the SIG P365XL as the ultimate EDC—compact, optics-ready, “reliable.” After 4 years, I’m calling out the hype. Stripped screws trying to mount an optic (the whole point of the removable plate). A broken trigger spring at the range—thank God it wasn’t life-or-death. A takedown lever that snapped in half during another session. And losing rear sights when you add an optic? Embarrassing design flaw. These are common issues—check SIG Talk and Reddit. SIG’s problems are ridiculous, but the real crime is influencers hyping it as perfect while ignoring these failures.
Meanwhile, my Springfield XD (9mm) has been bulletproof for 19 years. Battle-proven from its Croatian HS2000 roots, it’s never needed a repair. Zero issues through thousands of rounds. Yet, it’s trashed for “not being a Glock.” I know the XD’s full-size, not a micro-compact like the P365XL, but the P365’s issues are as absurd as the XD’s unfair hate. Marketing pushes “flawless” pistols while proven workhorses get no love.
I’m fixing my P365XL with an Armory Craft spring because SIG wanted $55 just to ship it to them for repair, not to mention the cost of a full inspection and function test. If the trigger can crap out like that suddenly, what other failures could be lurking?
Fed up with P365 problems or influencer BS? XD owners, how’s yours holding up?
