Cruise tourism is more than a port call — it’s the first chapter in a visitor’s relationship with a destination. Speaking at the Virgin Islands Tourism Summit at Peter Island Resort last week, FCCA President Adam Ceserano highlighted the tremendous opportunity destinations have to convert cruise guests into future stayover visitors by delivering authentic, memorable experiences that leave them wanting more. During the panel discussion, he emphasized that success will require destinations to innovate for today’s evolving traveler while building strong, symbiotic partnerships with their cruise line partners. The cruise industry can be a powerful catalyst for growing local visitor economies, but collaboration and communication must remain at the center of that relationship. FCCA is proud to serve as the bridge that strengthens dialogue and aligns destinations and cruise lines for mutual success. Ceserano also encouraged destinations to embrace a holistic approach to tourism by reimagining tours, showcasing local culture, and creating immersive experiences that inspire repeat visits. that's different you said "guy friends" that's entirely different when someone comes to my house on separate occasions (up to three visiting periods) and it's a 'stayover' setting, it's only courteous of you to help me around the house at that point, you're not a guest anymore.
