Meet another absolute "gem" of the Indian tech YouTube community: TechBar. 💎 He dropped a sponsored video with Vivo for the X300 Ultra, hyping it up as "MAX LEVEL Testing." The reality? A user called him out for showing: Exactly 1 ultra-wide photo Just 2 photos for 35mm shots 1 lonely comparison photo before ditching photos entirely. The funniest part? After getting called out, he silently changed that ridiculous, clickbaity thumbnail to hide the evidence, hoping no one would notice. 💀 This is exactly why people have massive trust issues with mainstream Indian tech creators. They aren't reviewers anymore—they’ve literally turned into brand managers.

In today’s creator economy, audiences are constantly told to question brands — which is fair. The creator ecosystem works best when opinions are independent, criticism is honest, and commercial conversations stay separate from editorial narratives. Sometimes that line isn’t always respected. Not favouring anyone here, but as the head of my previous brand, I saw multiple instances where a few creators suddenly became “consumer warriors” on launch day right after paid collaborations didn’t materialize (remember the dead motherboard videos on launch day?). But as a brand head I didn't react and took criticism, whether genuine or not, on my chin. As over long period of time consumers see genuine efforts. At the same time, many creators remained extremely professional irrespective of business discussions — people like Arun Prabhudesai, TechBar, GeekyRanjit and several others who understood the difference between criticism and coercion. Honest criticism helps brands improve. Arm-twisting disguised as objectivity hurts the credibility of the entire ecosystem. Sometimes I see 'a few' creators suddenly take the moral high ground on “ethics” and “consumer interest” when they themselves have spent years blurring the line between honest opinion and commercial leverage. Audiences are smarter than the ecosystem assumes. They eventually see consistency — or the lack of it. FYI, just sharing a perspective, not favouring or speaking against anyone.

If anyone can prove that TechBar was funded, directly or indirectly, by any competing smartphone brand to target or unfairly attack AI , I will delete my entire channel myself. No hidden agenda. No paid narrative. Only consumer-first commentary, publicly discussed information, and my honest opinion as a reviewer.

While I will be watching this to give my full opinion later on, one aspect of this clip (at the very beginning) is already boiling me up. Madhav says that posting negative videos or stories without asking a brand is "fake journalism", not independent ones. Does this mean that, I have to be answerable to the brand before complaining about any flaws of their products, even as a regular consumer? Dear Madhav, it is OUR money. It is OUR choice what we bought with OUR own money. Low-income populations in Tier-2 and Tier-3 are still starting to first your brand & buy it: Does this mean if they complain about any flaws of your phone without asking you, you will silence them? This sort of thing works in feedback programs and loops, where you have to report bugs and issues of products to the brand under an official obligation, usually under embargos. However, you can NEVER apply this same thing to average consumers who are buying your products from Flipkart or from offline stores with their own money, and are not bound by the same embargos and agreements: TechBar, Gyan Therapy and TechWiser's came under exactly this aspect, they are not answerable to you if they, as creators, found serious flaws and misleading information in how you make products and especially market them.
On behalf of My Tech Community, humne ek big approach liya aur AI ke Madhav Sheth se roktok sawaal kiye hai. Maine woh tough sawaal pooche hai jo tech community sach mein puchna chahti hai. Yeh sirf teaser hai — full podcast kal raat 8 PM Techno Ruhez channel par aayega. Aur haan, mujhe pata hai kuch log bolenge “paid podcast hoga” ya bina poora dekhe negative comments karenge. Isliye bas ek request hai — pehle full podcast dekho, phir jo genuine opinion ho woh dena.

As someone who has spent years in tech content, this issue genuinely matters to me. What’s happening with @TechWiser and @ShokeenSanchit, fellow creators who’ve been doing great work for years, is honestly concerning. Creators should always be responsible and factual. But honest criticism, questioning claims, and expressing concerns in good faith should never become something creators are scared of doing. If brands start silencing creators with legal notices instead of addressing concerns, we’re all losing something important. Hope this resolves soon. Standing with TechWiser & TechBar on this.
Stay strong @techwiser and Techbar (@ShokeenSanchit). Hope honest tech journalism and fair criticism continue to exist in India.

It might have come to your attention that a recent Ai video is no longer live on the channel. We are currently dealing with a legal discourse prompting this action. While we cannot discuss or reveal the specifics of the case as the same is sub-judice before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi. However, what can be emphasized upon is that there is a much larger issue at stake here – The Trust in YouTube review(s). For over a decade, Techwiser has been built upon a foundation of aiding and helping you learn, discover and decipher technology and consumer tech products. Techwiser has tirelessly created content and has always endeavored to share critical observations with utmost honesty backed with deep research and has time and again ensured that our content is fair and within lawful free speech limits. We, at Techwiser, believe that a company should not be permitted to use legal action by presenting a convenient, self-serving and inaccurate set of facts and narrative for silencing a critical opinion done in good faith. We are working with our legal team to defend a fair, honest and bonafide review. We aren’t just fighting for one video; we are fighting to ensure that your trust in YouTube video continues and lives on. To our community: thank you for your incredible and unwavering support. The Mission doesn’t change. Stay Wise.
