used to do typesetting andd the reason for this is that a lot of the cool fonts are for commercial use so the options for webtoon corps are very limited unless they create a new font or hand draw the sfx by themselves which isnt a standard practice.

i did freelance manhua translations for a company and unfortunately typesetting these kinds of text without making it look goofy WOULD be kind of hard... bcos you only have so many preset fonts to choose from. unless they're willing to do custom fonts but ik they wont be bothered
