🇷🇺 A former student from Tomsk who wanted to "work with drones" died in an assault.
There's growing evidence of what we've been shouting about from the start: those who believed the fairy tales about serving as drone operators are being sent to the infantry.
An obituary was published by the aunt of Artyom Matveyev, a former Tomsk State University student recruited "into the unmanned systems forces." The relative doesn't specify when exactly the young man signed the contract, but emphasizes that his love of technology during his studies influenced his decision:
"After learning about the opportunity to serve in modern units, Artyom was inspired by the idea of putting his knowledge into practice and working with drones."
However, Artyom's dreams were not destined to come true—after training at the training ground, he was sent to the 247th Airborne Assault Regiment. Ultimately, the young man died on the front lines.

I sometimes roll my eyes when Corey and others fixate on a couple of inches of height (5-11 vs 6-1, say), but this is a good, cogent analysis of why so many were and still are high on Artyom Levshunov. He's just so damn strong, and skates great. Only missing ingredient is time.
