Friend, the Lord Jesus Christ did found one Church — but it is not the Roman institution you think.
The Bible says: [Matthew 16:18 KJV] 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
That Rock is Christ Himself (see 1 Corinthians 10:4; the confession of faith in who He is), not Peter as the foundation of a papal system.
The true Church is His body: [Ephesians 1:22-23 KJV] 22 And hath put all [things] under his feet, and gave him [to be] the head over all [things] to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Christ is the one Head — not a man in Rome. The Church is the assembly of all who are born again by faith in His finished work on the cross (John 3:3-7; Ephesians 2:8-9). It is not a denomination or hierarchy built by men.
I did not abandon Christ’s Church — I came out of a system that added to the Gospel (traditions, works, sacraments, Mary, saints, purgatory, etc.), which the Scriptures warn against (Galatians 1:8-9; Colossians 2:8).
The true Church is made up of those justified by faith, as Romans makes plain and justified by grace;
[Romans 5:1 KJV] 1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
[Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV] 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The Bible nowhere teaches a pope, transubstantiation, indulgences, or salvation by works faith. Those additions came centuries later. The early believers met as simple assemblies of saints, with Christ alone as Head (Acts 2:41-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27).
If you trust in Christ alone — His blood, His righteousness — you are part of that one true Church, the body of Christ.
The gates of hell cannot prevail against Him. Come out of Babylon (Revelation 18:4) and stand on the pure Word of God.
What saith the Scripture?”
