So my neighbour took me the next day, to be told that getting essential mobility equipment back wasn't a police matter (it is, he'd actually taken my wheelchair from my boot just before I left, found out when I got my air BnB, borrowed one while I was away, not ideal and caused a lot of pain, but I am wheelchair dependant). Withholding someone's essential mobility equipment is a criminal offenxe, criminal damage,disability hate crime, coercive control and assault, as the equipment is considered part of a person's body in law. The police just told me to get two burly men to "persuade him" to return my belongings. Which would be intimidation. Which would be a criminal offence. The police have a legal responsibility to recover my mobility equipment, under the 2010 equality act, which they told me at the police station doesn't exist. They also told me that they aren't a removals service. And told me to sort it out myself. My abuser didn't want to do that. Housing also had a primary legal responsibility to recover both mobility equipment and all my belongings. They also refused and denied that. Meanwhile, my abuser (my ex landlord) had put some belongings in the back garden and was threatening to take to the tip, if I didn't remove them. Having parked his second car inches from the side of the house, in order to prevent me removing them, whilst having to photograph for the police and watch my things first get damaged by the Rian, then disappear. Only to be told it was all perfectly legal by the police. Insurance would not have paid out, even if I had it. Which I didn't, as my abuser wouldn't even let me shut, let alone lock my bedroom door and he refused a contract. He'd also emptied my storage unit without my knowledge or consent, so more than half the furniture and kitchen equipment etc in the house was mine. Lodger insurance wouldn't cover that. I'd tried to insure the whole property contents, but it flagged up as fraud, because he'd already done that. So, I was stuck. With him having more control and leverage and even while I lived there, using destruction of my belongings and witholding of mobility equipment to control me and upset me, cause asthma attacks etc, in the case of antiques that had been in my family for hundreds of years. Then sexually getting off on my physical or emotional pain to the point of climax. And while I was without anything, having been locked out (not eviction, control, I was locked out 1/3 times that I broke the rules by leaving the house, so I never felt safe, but witholding belongings meant I had to go back). While I was without anything essential, from wheelchairs to meds (ordered to arrive on the day of my return from inquiry, never got them), I still had to attend all the housing meetings etc, or lose my entitlement. Whilst collapsing from conditions I have in addition to disabilities, without meds etc. I legally had to attend every single meeting, or lose my housing entitlement. And did all of it and still ended up homeless for life.
