We used to start them on an amprol feed and then switch at 2-3 weeks when moved out to pasture but we haven't used amprol in a couple years. Haven't had a coccidia issue ever although it always worries me as we are pretty wet here. We use kiln dried shavings in the brooder that likely helps.

Day 5. Waiting game. Thinking about using a couple Rubbermaid totes for brooder. Just a thought 🤔

What we need is a fusion of all forms. Superman is meant to be the light. Kind, yet tempered with strength. Batman is meant to be the dark, brooder. Never must the two mix.

#UFOs #ufotwitter #ufox #UAP George Adamski’s 1950s cigar mothership UFO photos and ~500 other saucer images are hoaxes. He painted shapes on moon telescope photos for cigars; discs were chicken brooder/lantern models with bulb “gear,” via darkroom tricks.

The baby bird brooder is pure chaos right now. The birds are off their heat lamps and entering their awkward teenage phase. One bold chick took a literal leap of faith off the edge. youtu.be/BwzAZcKPqhE #Farmlife #BabyBirds #ChickenKeeping #BackyardChickens #FarmingHumor

Well I got the incubator fired up & got the brooder box fired up just in case I need to move eggs or baby chicks. After she hatches a few she may leave the nest or who knows. Yes it's best to be ready just in case.

This little one has no idea it's already famous. 😄 Our brooder houses are buzzing right now with thousands of healthy chicks getting the best possible start. #pheasantchicks #gamebirds #farmlife

As a side note: these often have a high fertility rate so, if you were inclined to get an incubator, brooder, chicken coop and run, you’d possibly have an unlimited supply of eggs (200-240 eggs approx per hen in their 1st year).

A little update on the chicks 🐥 We've officially been taken off chick duty, mostly because it makes more sense for us to focus on the animals and very large projects at the back of the property while the family looks after the animals closer to the house. We're incredibly proud that all 12 chicks made it safely to the 4-week mark under our care. Since then, they've transitioned into the next stage in the coop with the hens and are no longer our responsibility. We were saddened to hear last evening that one chick and one duckling were recently lost. We don't know the details, but sometimes these things simply happen in farming, when raising animals. From picking them up in a teeny box to brooder setups, feed changes, daily checks and watching them grow, this has been an invaluable learning experience for us. We're really grateful for the time we had with them and are hoping the rest of the flock continues to do well.🦆🐥💛

And that's not even all of them! There's another set of roosting bars behind those as well as a brooder house with 100 meat bird babies and 10 chicken tractors with meat birds in various stages of development, it's a lot.

Pheasant Fact Friday! Should landowners try incubating the eggs they find while harvesting fields? If harvesting killed the hen, then try incubating the eggs. If the hen survived, the eggs are better left in the nest. True, once the protective cover is harvested, predators have a good chance of finding the hen and the nest. But it is better to chance predation and maybe allow the hen to raise her family, than to create an incubator/ brooder mother. Without a hen to teach survival techniques and feeding habits, and to reinforce instinctive behavior patterns, the chicks' chances of surviving the wild is small.

It's supposed to be 103 today, so I decided to bring the baby birds inside. They're on the shower chair in a box in mum's bathroom. They'll go back out to sleep since the brooder is out there. The little one isn't really eating still 😔

It feels like people dislike characters like Brooder because he knows himself and can vocalise his skills. An equivalent is someone who says "I'm not going to watch the new Star Wars film, it will be shit" and people will say, "You don't know that". Kind of like that.

Because South Africans in Gauteng used to disrespect them , just like people in Gauteng calling South Africans staying outside Gauteng fools . There are people from various tribes in Botswana & not all are Batswana unless you understand the brooder term what Batswana actually mean. There are clans that are Bapedi like Batloung/Baka, BamaNgwato, Mapulane who went to Botswana mixed with Mazizi(Masisi) , Babirwa, BaMalete(Dinare), Babirwa etc. & others etc It took sacrifices for the BaMangwato to unite groups to come tother as one nation diverse & others who don’t understand tend to want to split what the nation built without understanding how all came about. & Botswana as a country was made by people from South Africa going to Botswana & others coming back & Not the other way around .
