It is always nice to hear that age doesn't matter, I am 31 and I try to keep fighting and to improve, but sometimes I feel like I have spent a lot of time without results and I don't really want to lose hope 🤣. I'm glad you got your dream job 😊

I believe I was 33, currently 38. Age doesn’t matter. I’ve worked with people almost half my age and those who are older. Do I wish I hadn’t given up those 7 years? Absolutely, but instead of focusing on that I try to push myself to make up for that time

But working at blizzard wasn’t the dream I thought it would be, I wanted something different. I saw a posting pop up at Riot and went for it, went through a plethora of interviews and got the “not this project but we have something else in mind for ya if you don’t mind a wait 11/

After my work on Ruined King, I was contacted by Blizzard and soon after I began my time at Blzzard on the WoW team: my dream job. I loved working in WoW and I’ll always be immensely proud of my team and the work I did on DragonFlight 10/

Grace had been seeing me post for a while on Facebook and liked my work enough to contact me about an art test. Soon after the test I was on a video call with her and @JoeMadx … no pressure… Airship Syndicate was my first studio and it holds a special place in my heart 9/

My wife asks me one day “If not Blizzard, then where else would you want to work?” I immediately responded with @AirshipSyn , but it’s a smaller studio that doesn’t hire as much. Literally the next day @NightblueArt contacts me about applying 8/

A couple of months went by with no news. My wife and I were seriously hurting financially and with freelance being so inconsistent I got a job at WholeFoods. I hated it but you do what you have to do. 7/

After 3-4 weeks I finally heard I was not selected. To say I was crushed would be to put it very mildly. I was told they wanted me, and would send me an offer in the future, but didn’t have a spot at the time anymore. 6/

This work got me my first art test at Blizzard. I was given the standard 2 weeks and completed it well before then. I was AMPED. The art test got me additional in person interviews and another art test for Blizzard and then radio silence. 5/

Fun fact: for my brushforge class I had never used Maya before. Had never done UVs, modeled, or texture painted before. Instead of doing a treasure chest for the class, I upped the ante, challenged myself to make something more complex
