Where the fuck does this keep coming from? For fuck's sake, Cold War was not made in 7 or 8 months. It was made in 18 months. The article that said Treyarch was making COD2020 was posted in May of 2019. You know what was made in 8 months? Blackout. Not Cold War. This pmo so much

I feel that the damage caused by SHG and whatever happened in 2020 cannot be overstated. Activision should have released MW3R ( MW2's MP content within it) that year. Raven should have finished CoD2020 on their own (thus becoming 2021) to finally become a full mainline developer

Concept image btw ^^ My theory as to why it never released, and what Activision decided to do with it👇 Activision wouldn’t want to sabotage or pull players away from their mainline game. They were happy to release Modern Warfare Remastered because they’d chosen to bundle it with Infinite Warfare. This meant that Infinite Warfare would have increased sales, a larger player-base to generate post-launch revenue from, and if not… they could generate that through Modern Warfare Remastered instead. MW2 Remastered was finished in 2018, and I think Activision decided to hold on to it in case of a disastrous situation in which an annual COD game wouldn’t be able to be released. Cold War’s development was very shaky, but after Activision were assured that the game would in fact be finished in time to launch as COD2020, they decided to make a quick buck on releasing the Campaign individually, continuing to hold on to the MP portion of the remaster. Vanguard’s development was also shaky, and I’m sure MW2 MP Remastered was sat there being considered. But ultimately, the game was also finished just in time to release as COD2021. Eventually, Activision decided they wanted assets of the game ported over to IW9 and used as Year 2 content for MW2 (2022), which had initial plans to be the first ever 2 year COD game. Those plans for MW2 (2022) Year 2 were changed in favour of making the Year 2 expansion it’s own mainline game… MW3 (2023). So MW3 (2023) released with 16 MW2 (2009) maps and newer takes on a bunch of its weapons, attachments etc because… They’re refined/re-purposed assets from that MW2 (2009) MP Remaster that never released. …Thoughts?🙂

Tbf it was well after February that we got confirmation that SHG wasn’t making COD2020, and that 3Arc took that project over after lackluster progress

I don’t think you can take what’s happening with zombies and pin it on just one thing. 3Arc having COD2020 (cold war) and vanguard zombies thrust upon them, studio resources clearly being allocated to blackout (at the time) and now warzone and the ruthless live service model, etc

Treyarch was pulled from development during BO4’s life cycle to work on COD2020 (Cold War). And THEN got pulled to work on Vanguard during COLD WAR.

They supported MWR and were gonna do COD2020 with SHG but SHG went and fucked it all up. I think showing them the reins and then giving them a COD ain’t the worst idea.

I mean CW came out during COVID and Treyarch were forced onto it super late... Same with VG Zombies. It's not really fair to compare any of the zombie experiences from COD2020 onwards to past CODs.

Vanguard was not held back a year. It was made from scratch after SHG got thrown off COD2020 in mid 2019

Shows who was the actual problem on COD2020 if Raven still did the campaign.
